Understanding Key Terms in Cerely

Modified on Thu, 4 Dec at 8:00 PM

Welcome to Cerely! Before you dive into using the system, it’s important to understand a few key terms that form the foundation of how everything is organised. Here’s a quick breakdown:

Clients

Definition: Clients refer to the head office of a company or an overarching group of sites that you provide services for.

Example: If you're providing services for a retail chain, the head office that manages all the stores would be set up as the "Client."

Sites

Definition: Sites are the specific locations where your services are delivered. These are typically physical addresses such as buildings, offices, stores, or warehouses.

Example: Each individual store, office, or facility belonging to a client is considered a separate Site.

Contacts

Definition: Contacts are the people you interact with across Clients and Sites. This includes:

  • General business contacts

  • Site managers

  • Key decision-makers

  • Emergency contacts

Personnel

Definition: Personnel includes your operational workforce—the individuals who actually deliver the service on the ground. This can include:

  • Guards (security staff, for example)

  • Independent Contractors (freelancers, temporary staff, or specialised providers)

By understanding these four key components—Clients, Sites, Contacts, and Personnel—you’ll have a solid grasp of how your data is structured within our platform. This makes it easier to manage operations, assign resources, and maintain strong client relationships.
